In addition to regular tooth extractions, we are pleased to offer wisdom teeth surgery to local residents in Grande Prairie.
Your wisdom teeth are the third set of molars in your mouth and are recommended to be removed. For many people, they emerge during the late teens, and sometimes into the twenties. They can be painful as they start to emerge, or if they have already emerged, can become a nuisance to clean, leading to bacteria buildup and other issues leading to pain and discomfort. In some cases, wisdom teeth can also cause jaw pain. Having your wisdom teeth removed is the solution most recommended by health care professionals.
At Dental Care Centre, we can assess your wisdom teeth and determine the best course of action. Your Wisdom teeth surgery will be completed at our office in Grande Prairie and you will receive detailed post-op instructions to help you get back to your normal activities as soon as possible!

Fast Recovery From Wisdom Teeth Surgery in Grande Prairie
Wisdom teeth surgery may sound overwhelming, but if you follow your dentist’s instructions for period post-surgery, you should be able to deal with some common discomforts after the procedure.
Following are some of the post-op tips to be borne in mind:
- Bleeding: If you experience bleeding post wisdom teeth removal, apply a moist gauze pad on the area and apply some pressure on it for about 40-50 minutes by biting down on it. If bleeding does not stop, contact your dentist as soon as possible.
- Swelling: Swelling is a common problem after wisdom teeth removal. Place an ice pack on your cheek from the outside near the affected area for about 10 minutes. Take out the ice from the pack and place the pack for a further 20 minutes. Repeat this procedure as often as you want during the first 24 hours of the removal.
